New published paper- Subjectifying the personality state: Theoretical underpinnings and an empirical
We're excited to share our new published paper, which uses EMA to model nomothetic and idiographic interrelations between cohesive personality states using network models. The full articale is here:

Personality researchers recognize that personality is often in the state, and not just the trait. Inspired by clinical models (e.g., schema therapy, emotion focused therapy, and relational psychoanalysis), we set out to examine dynamic state-like manifestations of personality. We reasoned that such states should be seen as cohesive organizational units possessing distinct subjective qualities, and empirically illustrated this idea with schema therapy's mode model, chosen for its finite and definite set of modes(i.e., cohesive personality states). We assessed these modes using a newly-developed ESM measure administered to fifty-two individuals (four times daily for fifteen days). We then applied network analysis to these data, estimating intra individual and group-level temporal and contemporaneous networks.
The paper discusses both exemplar participants’ and group-level networks, and addresses cross-model particularities and consistencies. We conclude by discussing the relevance of dynamic assessment of cohesive subjective states to personality research.
