Fostering Hope in Parenthood: Innovative Research and Intervention

We're happy to share these materials, developed within our multi-method project exploring hope during the transition to parenthood (TTP). Our TTP work was supported by generous grants from the US-Israel Binational Science Foundation (2014-2018; PIs: Eshkol Rafaeli and Marci E.J. Gleason), the Hope and Optimism Initiative (2015-2017; PI: Eshkol Rafaeli), and the John Templeton Foundation (2017-2020; PI: Eshkol Rafaeli), and included a longitudinal study and a randomized controlled intervention.

Below are valuable resources for researchers, expectant couples, and therapists. As new insights accrue, we will post them here, as we continue to explore our data to enhance our understanding and improve the support for new families during this transformative life stage.

Our project involved two studies. Materials (including a list of questionnaires and information on data sharing) can be found in the Open Science Framework links below:

Study 1 (the longitudinal study following couples in the transition to parenthood from the third trimester of pregnancy through two years post-partum): Online Science Framework

Study 2 (a randomized controlled study testing the effective dyadic hope intervention): Online Science Framework
