New Grant: JTF funding for 2017-2019 for our imagery-based intervention study during the transition
We are thrilled to announce that our lab received funding from the John Templeton Foundation. It will allow us to continue the longitudinal follow-up of the sample recruited in The Science of Hope and Optimism project. Moreover, it will allow us to implement a randomized trial of a brief imagery-based Effective Hope intervention (applying insights from mental simulation and contrasting research) with a new sample of couples in the transition to parenthood. The project employs a dyadic multi-method design which comprises (a) lab-based behavioral observation and psychophysiological assessments; (b) experience sampling over a period of 21 days, and (c) longitudinal assessments. We are hopeful that this intervention will help couples to adjust better to the challenging yet rewarding juncture of becoming parents.
