Psychotherapy research – a growing presence in our lab!
Thanks to the wonderful collaboration with Wolfgang Lutz (University of Trier) ,Dana Atzil-Slonim (Bar-Ilan University), and Eran Bar-Kalifa (Ben Gurion University), as well as a cadre of other colleagues and amazing students here at BIU, we’ve been getting more and more excited about applying the ideas of dyadic research, developed in the study of close relationships, to the psychotherapy context.
The work we have collaborated on explores issues related to client/therapist understanding or congruence (Atzil-Slonim et al., In press; Chen et al., 2016; Fisher et al., 2016); affect dynamics (Fisher et al., In press; Husen et al., 2016), imagery and rescripting methods (Prinz et al., 2016), and self-compasssion (Galili-Weinstock et al., In press). We’re very excited about these as well as ongoing projects in this area!
